What stays on your device

The guides, the quizzes and the checklist all run in the page. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Your checklist, quiz scores and readiness card stay in this browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

The skills you mark learned, your want to learn list, your quiz scores, your mock check results, your 30-day plan, your kit and seasonal ticks and your readiness card are written to your browser's own storage (IndexedDB, or local storage where IndexedDB is not available), under names beginning with emk. and nowhere else. They belong to one browser on one device: they do not follow you to a phone, they are not backed up anywhere, and nobody else can read them. You can export your progress as a JSON file and import it elsewhere. Clearing site data for this site removes it permanently and immediately.

The readiness card holds whatever you type, such as where your water shutoff is and emergency contacts' phone numbers. It has no field for insurance policy numbers on purpose. A name typed on the skills passport is never saved.

Search runs in the page: typing in a search box downloads the site's own search index once and matches it in your browser, so what you type is never sent anywhere. The header search box adds your words to the checklist page's address so the list can open filtered; that address stays in your browser like any page you visit. Read aloud uses your browser's built-in speech voice and only starts when you press the button; some browsers offer voices that are produced by an online service, which is a setting of your browser or device, not of this site.

No accounts

There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password to lose. Every free page is reachable without identifying yourself in any way.

What is collected

No account, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you tick or answer. Standard logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time and a network address, in the ordinary way any web server records a request. The site owner may view anonymous, aggregate page view counts from the host.

Purchases and access checks

No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it.

Cookies

EveryManSkills sets no cookies of its own, and it carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.

Children

The site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. It asks for no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page. There is no mailing list to notify.

Questions about privacy go to [email protected]. Since nothing is stored on a server, most requests are answered by telling you which storage to clear. The skills checklist and the guides work the same whether or not you ever write in.
